Resurrected

“My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word!” Psalm 119:25

Over the past year, I’ve been reminded of the true fact that God can, and will, bring any dead situation, dream, desire, hope, and expectation back to life. He comes in and revives the flatline in us, bringing back to life not just what was dead, but something even better.

Our God is in the business of resurrection. How amazing is that?

To be honest, I’ve had some things brought to death in my life. Granted, some of those things needed to be brought to death, but most of those things God fully intended for me to nourish them and to make them thrive. But the enemy loves to come in and not just steal, but to also kill.

That is an important reminder for us all. Sometimes we forget that the enemy also kills dreams, desires, hopes – anything because he doesn’t want God’s purpose to prevail. So, what does he do? He sends lies our way to destroy the beautiful garden God so purposely planted inside of us. I like to view these lies as weeds. If you know anything about gardening, you know that having weeds in your garden is not healthy for the plants you intend to grow. The weeds come in and plant roots so deep and take away their life source. Which, eventually, leads to the beautiful plants dying and the weeds thriving. 

As stewards, we are to get on our knees daily and weed out the lies in our garden. Literally, get on your knees and pray, declare God’s Word over yourself, and remind yourself of what it is that God has for you and wants for you. Don’t let the father of lies come in and plant weeds. And, even if a part of your garden is dead, ask God to help you bring it back to life.

Remember: God is in the business of resurrection. So, ask yourself, are you willing to not only take out the lies but to also ask God to bring back to life what you thought was dead?
