Seen

“God sees you.” Psalm 34:15

Sometimes it’s hard to feel seen when you’re surrounded by a large group of people. Sometimes it’s challenging to feel wanted when you’re surrounded by people that seem to make you feel unwanted.

I was recently in this place. And, boy, it’s a hard place to be in. But, in the midst of all that, I was reminded that even though I may feel unseen, God sees me. He not only sees me, but He stands with me, sits with me, walks with me, listens to me, speaks to me – He does it all without hesitation. Granted, it’s hard to believe those things when you can’t physically see or feel or hear Him, but once you take a step back, you get to see His fingerprints and gentle whispers all throughout that moment. That’s how it was for me. Although I was in that place and, in the moment, I couldn’t sense that, God was able to sweetly reveal to me how He was there with me all along; that He saw me.

Sometimes God allows us to be hidden so we can be seen by the right people. That’s the beauty behind Him seeing us. He sees us and everyone around us and He sees what we need and the right people who can meet those needs.

It’s like a game of hide and seek. The person looking for you has to know how to find you. God knows all the right hiding places to place us in so that when we are found, we are found by the right people. Those people are those who can come alongside you in the race. People who can encourage, challenge, walk with, cry with, laugh with, and do all those things with so many other things in the way God knows you need.

 So friend, if today you’re feeling a little extra hidden, find joy in it. God is hiding you for a reason. But find comfort in the truth that even though you feel hidden, God sees you and He is with you.
